Reading boss Clarke overjoyed with capture of Watford keeper Bond

Reading manager Steve Clarke admits he is delighted with the signing of Jonathan Bond.

The Royals have replaced Adam Federici, who left four Premier League new boys Bournemouth, by securing the signing of Bond from Watford which prompted positive words from Clarke.

A talented young goalkeeper, Bond is touted for a big future in the game and Clarke has now gone on to express his delight at having signed the 22-year old.

"I'm delighted we've managed to secure the signature of one of English football's brightest young goalkeepers," 27-Clarke said.

"Jonathan is at the stage of his career where he needs a new challenge and the opportunity to establish himself as first-choice goalkeeper.

"He has all the attributes needed to reach the very top and, with the help of new goalkeeping coach Dave Beasant, it's our aim to get him there."
