Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris felt both his side and Besiktas deserved a point from Thursday night's clash.
The north London outfit and the Turkish side played out a 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane in Group C of the Europa League in a match which could have gone either way.
Harry Kane opened the scoring for the home side with a left-footed thunderbolt in the 27th minute and it appeared as though Mauricio Pochettino's side would grab all three points before Vlad Chiriches gave away a penalty wita sloppy handball at the death.
Former West Ham United, Newcastle United and Chelsea striker Demba Ba stepped up to the spot and comfortably beat France international Lloris in the 89th minute which made it a fair result according to the Spurs number one.
"It was a tough game against a big Turkish team, both teams deserved the draw," he told ITV4.
"It's football. Sometimes you don't play a good game and you have to know how to win. Today we were close but conceded a penalty. It's a good thing to learn."
The draw has Tottenham sitting third on the group table with two points, equal with second-placed Besiktas, one ahead of bottom side Partizan Belgrade and two in arrears of leaders Asteras Tripolis.
