RB Salzburg boss Marsch disappointed Liverpool bought Minamino for 'way, way too cheap'

RB Salzburg boss Jesse Marsch admits Liverpool bought striker Takumi Minamino for 'way, way too cheap'.

The Reds were keen on the Japan international after he starred at Anfield in the Champions League and eventually activated his £7.25m release clause in January.

And Marsch says Liverpool were likely to get such a bargain deal.

"The thing that hurt with Taki is that Liverpool got him way, way, way too cheap. But this is part of managing the market and managing player contracts," Marsch said.

"We always have here, with the scouting team and the sports director, they do an amazing job, and we always have the next generation of players here and ready to take the next step."
