RB Leipzig have identified the man to replace German striker Timo Werner.
The prolific frontman is heading to Chelsea when the Bundesliga concludes.
Reports indicate he may not even play in Leipzig's remaining Champions League games, which are in August.
Le10 Sport says the club have turned to Wissam Ben Yedder of Monaco as a replacement.
Ben Yedder, who is also a target for Manchester United, has enjoyed a great season, managing 18 league goals in 26 games.
He tied with Kylian Mbappe for the most Ligue 1 goals this term.
And he would be affordable for Leipzig, as they are set to receive a huge fee from Chelsea for Werner.
