Everton manager Marco Silva has refuted claims that Ademola Lookman is distracted by claims that he could leave the club.

Lookman is recovering from a groin issue. There were some suggestions that he is looking to depart the club, either on loan or permanently.

But Silva believes he will be fit soon and that he is not unfocused.

"Our medical staff made a statement before the match," Silva said to the Liverpool Echo.

"He has a small problem in his groin and we will see if he can start to work with the team tomorrow."

When pressed on the speculation possibly distracting the player, Silva responded: "For me, no.

"It is not easy for me to lose my focus over these things.

"I understand football and I understand the market, I understand everything that has happened.

"But when the market closed for us our focus is only one thing: to see what is the best solution for us as a club, to work with our players to prepare them the best way. It is not easy for me to lose focus because of this situation."
