RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner has explained his decision to leave Chelsea.
Werner admits Germany's World Cup campaign was a major factor.
He said, "I didn't play enough last season. And I felt that for the second season in a row at Chelsea I would not start the season.
"In a year when there is a World Cup, I didn't want to risk taking part in the tournament."
Werner admits he had other offers beyond RBL.
He also said: "It would have been wrong if I hadn't dealt with it.
"(Leipzig) significantly had more plus points than all other clubs."
