RB Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhuttl admits Ademola Lookman was almost hooked before he hit his winner on Saturday.
The on-loan Everton striker was frustrating Hasenhuttel with his constant slipping on the German pitch.
After victory over Borussia Monchengladbach, Hasenhuttl said: "He was lucky that he was still on the pitch for the goal. I really wanted to take him out because he'd just slipped again.
"That was the same in practice on Friday. But he brought only one pair of boots from England and absolutely refused to take them off."
On Sunday, Lookman appeared at training with some new - local - boots.
Hasenhuttl smiled: "They are new - and have long studs underneath.
"With a bit better balance now, he has really good solutions on the ball. We hope that he continues to impress."
