Rayo Vallecano striker Raul de Tomas has admitted some regret over his time with former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane.
De Tomas is on-loan at Rayo this season from Madrid.
Asked about his idol growing up, De Tomas said: "Zidane and that was not my position, but I liked how he played and his class. Also, I looked at Cristiano, there is no more complete than him.
"We talked a lot, almost every week, about life, about football ... I wanted to show my idol who I was. I put too much pressure on myself and things did not go the way I wanted.
"I am glad of everything that has happened to him these years. He will return to coach and do it well, I am sure."
