Raul Jimenez deflected strike gives Wolves three points over Leeds

Raul Jimenez's defected second-half strike was enough for Wolves to beat Leeds United on Monday.

Leeds dominated the first-half but were unable to damage the scoreboard.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side got on top in the second stanza and got the breakthrough thanks to Jimenez.

The Mexican cut in from the right flank and fired a shot which hit Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips and flew into the back of the net.

The win means Wolves move up to sixth on the table, while Leeds are in tenth.

Speaking after the game, Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa didn't think Wolves were better than his side.

"In the first half we should have established a difference, in the second half it was more even," said the Argentine.

"We had the sensation that we could unbalance them. We created enough opportunities to establish a lead.

"I don't think they were better than us but they neutralised our game better. The game was very hard, very physical and there was a lot of interruptions.

"Every game you have opportunities to generate corrections."
