Raul de Tomas was delighted to be back on the pitch in Rayo Vallecano's defeat to Real Betis.
De Tomas had been forced to wait four months to play for Rayo after leaving Espanyol at the start of the season after a clash with management.
He said, "We made a great match but two quality actions of them allowed them to take the victory. The meeting opted for those actions.
"I've been training for a while but the competition has nothing to do with training. I have also had time to prepare but with an injury the last few weeks I have been standing.
"Surely I will find myself better with the passing of days."
