Chelsea may fast-track Antonio Rudiger's return to the first team.
The Blues' clash with Wolves on September 14 was believed to be the date pencilled in for his return after knee surgery earlier this year.
But the Daily Mail says Chelsea will consider bringing the comeback forward after a late defensive collapse at Old Trafford saw Frank Lampard lose 4-0 in his first game as manager.
Rudiger has stepped up his training at Cobham but naturally wants to ensure his knee is 100 per cent before returning to match action.
But Lampard is allegedly now keeping an even closer eye on the ex-Roma centre-back in the hope of adding some experience and solidity to his backline.
