West Ham United defender Razvan Rat says they must not lean on excuses for their form slide.
Rat insists they cannot use their defensive crisis as an excuse for their struggles.
The Romanian left-back, 32, said: "It is not easy for us because we don't have the regular centre-backs.
"We had to play Joey O'Brien and George McCartney there against West Brom.
"They are not centre-backs, but they must adapt because we don't have anyone else.
"It's unlucky, to have all the injuries in the same position, but we will have to play with the players we have available and that's life."
