The former Sassuolo coach was seen on his own inside the team bus after the dramatic extra-time defeat, skipping his media duties in the process.

Roma chief Franco Baldini, meanwhile, is ready to change coaches today, reports TMW, with Ranieri available.

The former Fulham manager is the only major coach willing to immediately step in, with another target, Paulo Sousa, only prepared to take the post in June.

For his part, Ranieri would sign for the remainder of the season with a 12-month option should Roma qualify for the Champions League.
