Claudio Ranieri has thanked David Nugent for his contribution in getting Leicester City into the Premier League.
Leicester recently allowed Nugent to leave the club on a £4million deal to Championship side Middlesbrough and the departure of the fan favourite would have certainly saddened a few at King Power Stadium.
However, Ranieri has moved on to thank Nugent and revealed that the striker was offloaded to hand him a chance of regular first team football elsewhere.
Ranieri said: "I want to say thank you to Nugent, three years ago he was the main goal scorer but I want other types of players. I said to him if there is an opportunity to go and play then maybe it is better, and he do that."
