Ranieri confident Fulham can avoid relegation

Fulham manager Claudio Ranieri is confident that his team can avoid relegation.

The Italian took over from Slavisa Jokanovic earlier in the season, but has failed to stop a rot that sees the club adrift near the bottom of the table.

Fulham are 19th with only 17 points, which puts them eight away from safety with only 12 games remaining.

But Ranieri has not given up on securing their position in the Premier League for next season.

"After (the) Manchester United match, I gave (the players) two days off to recharge the batteries and then we start our normal fitness and tactical work and we are ready," Ranieri said to reporters.

"We know it's a difficult moment for us but we must be positive and do everything we can do to change our table.

"Every time in training session there is a very good atmosphere and this gives me a lot of confidence. The squad is alive, they want to do something more every match."
