Rangnick identifies Bellingham, Phillips & Haidara to address Man Utd 'biggest weakness'

Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick believes midfield is the weakest area of their squad.

The Red Devils have the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay as central midfield options, along with Nemanja Matic.

Paul Pogba can also play in there, although the Frenchman is injured and may be off in the summer on a free transfer.

According to ESPN, Rangnick told club bosses that he would like to sign a midfielder.

He is targeting the likes of Amadou Haidara from RB Leipzig, Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, and Kalvin Phillips from Leeds United.

The German is set to coach United until the end of the season before working as a consultant until 2024.

Rangnick has won both of his games in charge, with United sitting one point behind fourth-placed West Ham United.
