Manchester United's Tom Heaton is being linked with a move to Scotland.
The backup shot stopper should be eyed by Rangers to help them find a way out of their goalkeeping issues.
Manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst recently went back on his decision to make Jon McLaughlin his no.1.
The latter received significant criticism from the Ibrox supporters, with fans wanting veteran Allan McGregor to return in goal.
Former England stopper Paul Robinson told Football Insider: "If they can get him out of Man United, Tom (Heaton) would be an excellent option.
"Tom is somebody who has a lot of unfinished business. He got injured at Aston Villa and never won his place back because (Emiliano) Martinez came in.
“He has not been given a fair chance at Man United.
"I suspect promises have been made by previous managers and nothing has come to fruition.
“Tom is far better than being number three goalkeeper, no matter what club he is at. He is not at that stage of his career yet. He has so much to give.
“A move to a club like Rangers would be a very good move for him. It would be great for Rangers as well because he is a top-class goalkeeper.
"Tom is hungry. He would be a fantastic acquisition for any club."
