Rangers move for Maccabi Haifa's Hemed hits a snag

Rangers' pursuit of Maccabi Haifa striker Tomer Hemed seems to have hit a snag with a couple of other clubs attempting to hijack the deal.

The 24-year old Israel international was close to completing a deal to join the Scottish champions but it has been reported that Spanish duo Real Majorca and Espanyol have trumped the offer from 'Gers.

However, Hemed has made it clear that he wants to land at Ibrox and hopes a deal can be sorted.

"I am excited at the prospect of playing for such a big club as Rangers and playing under a manager like Ally McCoist," he said.

"I believe if I get the chance to work with him he can develop my game.

"But at the moment it's up to Rangers and my agent. I hope they can come to an agreement."
