Rangers are facing a blow in their pursuit of Ryan Kent from Liverpool.

The Scottish giants wanted to complete the signing of the youngster this summer.

However, many of Liverpool's attackers may miss the start of the Premier League season.

The likes of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah will all get extended breaks due to Copa America and African Cup of Nations duties respectively.

It means that someone like Kent could have a role to play in the first few games of the season.

There is a suggestion he could move after the Premier League season begins, but before the Scottish window shuts at the end of August.

The 22-year-old is also wanted by Middlesbrough in the Championship.
