Rangers fightback downs Aberdeen

Kenny Miller scored a brace as champions Rangers came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 away to Aberdeen and maintain their perfect start to the Scottish Premier League season. The victory, the first in four years Pittodrie, was played down by Gers chief Walter Smith.

"You just want to win matches," he insisted. "Aberdeen seem to take great pleasure in saying that the only team they want to beat is Rangers.

"I'm not like that, I prefer my team to try to beat everybody we play."

Smith did take satisfaction from the determination his players showed in what is traditionally a fiery encounter.

"When you come to Pittodrie an innocuous foul for either team is treated like a crime against humanity," he said. "It is a very difficult situation for the referee to handle.

"What most pleased me was the character that the team showed to come back from going two goals behind."
