Rangers boss Walter Smith is surprised surprise at Kris Boyd being snubbed by his fellow professionals for the player of the year award. The striker has been on fine form this season, with last week's double against Motherwell bringing his tally for the campaign to 28 goals.
"I was a bit surprised," admitted Smith.
"I feel that, when you are so far ahead as the leading goalscorer in the country, a nomination would have been in order. But there you go.
"The players who have been nominated have had good seasons.
"It's just people's choices but I would have thought he warranted a nomination."
