The Scottish Sun says McCoist warned new Aston Villa boss McLeish he is wasting his time preparing bids for Allan McGregor and Steven Davis.
The pair are key to the Gers boss' plans and are NOT for sale.
Eck sees McGregor as a replacement for new Tottenham signing Brad Friedel, while Davis is a former Villa player.
