Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is chasing Southampton midfielder Steven Davis.

Davis managed just one outing in Southampton's final 11 games of the season after suffering a hamstring injury back in February.

And with just 12 months remaining on his contact at St Mary's, Sky Sports reports Rangers are keen to bring him back to the Ibrox.

The Northern Ireland midfielder made 200 appearances during a hugely successful four-year stint in Glasgow before his move to Saints in 2012.

He won three Scottish Premiership titles, two Scottish Cups, three Scottish League Cups and helped Rangers to the 2007/08 UEFA Cup final.
