Steven Gerrard has rebuffed an approach from Peterborough United for George Edmundson.

The young defender was previously seen as expendable by Gerrard after spending last season on loan at Derby County.

But the Daily Record says Gerrard wants the 23-year-old back in his first-team squad.

League One club Peterborough tried to sign Edmundson in 2019 before he moved to Glasgow.

Derby are also keen to re-sign the Englishman but are struggling financially.
