Ramsey: Arsenal wanted me more than Man Utd

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey admits Arsene Wenger's studied interest in him made the decision easy to reject Manchester United.

What he found most impressive was not the plane that was laid on for him so that he could travel with his parents, Kevin and Marlene, to meet Wenger, who was in Switzerland commentating on Euro 2008, but the Frenchman's detailed knowledge of his career.

"I was going to make the decision that I wanted to make," he told the Telegraph. "I was going to take people's advice but it's up to me what I do and no one else was going to make that decision for me and I choose Arsenal.

"I listened to what the two managers had to say to me and I was just more impressed by how much they knew about me, what they wanted me to do to improve and the path they had for me. I just felt more wanted here than Manchester United."

Ramsey feels he is constantly improving at the Emirates stadium.

"We move the ball quickly and I think my one-touch, two-touch passing has improved," he says, "but I don't stop and think, 'that's the player I want to be like'.

"I want to be known for the player I am. I want to be me."
