Ralph Hasenhuttl admits he won't be hanging around if Southampton are relegated this season.
The Austrian took charge of Saints last week after the dismissal of Mark Hughes.
Hasenhuttl revealed to BILD: "Anyone who knows me, knows that I would question myself in the relegation case.
"If you fail as a coach, you have to make room for someone new.
"If we manage to keep the team in the Premier League, the risk for me will be financially worthwhile."
