Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic insists there's no panic inside the locker room over Lionel Messi's contract.

Messi, who struck twice in victory at Alaves, agreed terms over a new deal two months ago, but the contract remains unsigned.

Rakitic, asked about the situation, insisted no-one at Barca expect the Argentine to skip out on them.

"We all know that Lionel is happy to be at Barca and is expected to remain there for ever," declared the Croatian.

For his part, Rakitic has also stated he's fully committed to Barca after experiencing a summer of transfer speculation.
