Race for the Scudetto: Kvaratskhelia Napoli sensation; Lookman proves Leicester wrong; Inzaghi silences Inter critics

Few changes at the top of the standings, but among the most interesting results of the Serie A weekend was certainly the draw between Lecce and Fiorentina, the victory of Juventus in the Derby della Mole and yet another positive result for Udinese, who drew against Lazio. Let's see what happened:

MATCH OF THE WEEK - NAPOLI-BOLOGNA

The most spectacular match of the weekend, with the boys coached by Luciano Spalletti who won yet another game of the season, confirming themselves in first place in the standings and winning a match that, despite the many scoring opportunities created, was unexpectedly complicated due to the excellent performance of Bologna (Thiago Motta has recently been appointed), who had managed to reach the result of 2-2 and caused many worries for the Napoli fans.

Despite the absence of Marko Arnautovic, leader of the Rossoblu and still the top scorer in the championship, Motta's team managed to produce probably one of their best performances of the season, even if the three points did not arrive at the end of the game.

The 3-2 in favor of Napoli, signed as usual by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia among others, is still a good starting point for Bologna, which if it manages to give continuity to this type of performance, in terms of intensity and quality, will not have problems winning many more games between now and the end of the season.

INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCES OF THE WEEK - KVARATSKHELIA AND LOOKMAN

Two of the biggest Serie A surprises so far. The Georgian winger of Napoli continues to make one extraordinary performance after another, collecting goals and assists with an almost embarrassing ease, at the pace of a top player.

It is incredible to think that he is in his first season in Naples: decisive in the league and in the Champions League, against low-ranking teams and against Ajax and therefore in top-level matches. Within a few games he became the guiding star of the team and Victor Osimhen said a few days ago: “You haven't seen anything yet".

There is no reason to doubt that, but seeing what he can already do on the pitch it is difficult to imagine what he could become. Against Bologna it was his pass for the Nigerian striker's goal, the winning 3-2 goal, as usual a through ball that few players can think of, moreover making it seem like something easy. And who knows how much more he will grow?

There is another rising star in the Italian league, another player from abroad, in this case from the Premier League, who is playing at a great level as if he had been playing in Italy for 5 years. This is Ademola Lookman, the new face of Gian Piero Gasperini's Atalanta, a more defensive and less aggressive team than in the past.

The former Leicester player has become indispensable for the Nerazzurri in a short time and in 509 minutes of play from the start of the season he managed to already collect 4 goals and 3 assists, often decisive for the result. Even against Sassuolo he was the man of the three points, with a beautiful goal: dribbling in one on one with the defender and shooting under the crossbar. He had already shown interesting things in the Premier League, but in Serie A he is really making a difference.

TEAM OF THE WEEK - LECCE

Marco Baroni's boys didn't win, they drew 1-1 against Vincenzo Italiano's Fiorentina, but considering the standings and the values of the two teams, Lecce deserves applause and deserves to be named in this article.

The ranking remains worrying and dangerous, but objectively nothing else could be expected from the Giallorossi: there are many players with no experience in Serie A, there are many new signings who have to settle in a new football and above all they have to play against high level opponents, but after Monday's draw Lecce have 8 points in the standings, three more than the third from bottom.

There is still a long way to go, obviously, but Baroni is doing a great job, also because of the way he is enhancing his best players, namely Gabriel Strefezza and Assan Ceesay. They must continue like this.

COACH OF THE WEEK - SIMONE INZAGHI

It seems absurd if you think back to a few weeks ago, if you think back to the match lost against Roma and the rumors of a possible sacking that came from Milan, but Simone Inzaghi in the last two weeks has completely reversed the situation of the Nerazzurri: one victory and a draw in the Champions League against Barcelona (the 3-3 at Camp Nou was an evening that the Inter fans will not quickly forget), the victory against Sassuolo and finally the three points won on Sunday against Davide Nicola's Salernitana, who despite of the ranking always represents a complex or difficult obstacle.

Lautaro Martinez, who scored at Barcelona and also scored on Sunday: he is the man of the moment, but the credit must also go to the Inter coach, who in recent weeks has rightly taken many criticism, but who has now found a way to get the team back on its feet.
