Former Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn says today's Capital One Cup final with Manchester City is massive for the city.
Quinn insists the fans are expecting Wembley glory.
"It's a massive occasion for Sunderland, make no mistake about that. I was up there last week and it's gone mental," he told the Daily Mail. "Tickets are like gold dust. These type of days don't come around often, particularly for those supporters.
"Look at where they've come from this season - to get here is a superb achievement.
"City could have Wigan on their minds - Sunderland definitely should do. If you can stop them playing it can be done. Work in twos and threes.
"Wigan did it very well last year and frustration crept in that day. Big deep breaths before the whistle, keep it tight for 60-70 minutes and then it is anyone's game."
