Queensland Roar midfielder to miss four weeks

Queensland Roar's Scottish import Charlie Miller has undergone surgery for a double hernia and will miss up to four weeks. The revelation of the season, Miller will be sorely missed after scoring the most goals for the Roar so far this season but coach Frank Farina said the problem was in dire need of being fixed.

"He was struggling," Farina admitted.

"When I saw how he trained during that week after he'd had a couple of injections, I think I could've put (assistant coach) Rado (Vidosic) in the team and he'd have done a better job!

"I think it was the best thing because otherwise he keeps pushing it, he potentially could've lost confidence and we wouldn't have had any time left.

"(Roar physio) Tony Ganter this morning was saying he potentially could be back in four weeks, so that would mean he'd be available for the last two games but we'll just have to wait and see how he comes out of it."
