QPR striker Simpson hopes for Arsenal recall

Arsenal striker Jay Simpson was again on the mark for QPR in their 2-2 draw with Coventry City.

The Gunners striker is on loan at QPR but after grabbing his eighth goal in 14 games would love the chance to step in for the long-term casualty Robin Van Persie at the Emirates.

He said: "This is helping my development and I want to play at the top level. At the moment Arsenal have a lot of injuries so if I was back there, who knows.

"When I play I'm always confident I'll score - even if it was in the Premier League."

Simpson added: "I am with Rangers for the season. There is a call back but I don't know if it will be used.

"I'm in touch with Arsenal and I know they come to all the home games but I'll just focus on my stuff."
