QPR on brink of deal for Man Utd midfielder Sean Goss

QPR are ready to close a deal for Manchester United midfielder Sean Goss.

The 21-year-old left Exeter for United in 2012 and has impressed for the reserve team this season. Goss has attracted admiring glances despite being unable to make a first-team impact and is now set to join Rangers for an initial fee of £500,000. The deal could rise with add-ons.

Ahead of QPR's Championship clash with Burton on Saturday, manager Ian Holloway delivered a brief update on the club's transfer business.

He said: “I mentioned about a sloth and a cheater last weekend – that was me being me and messing about a bit.

“But what I meant was that we're taking our time, being due-diligent and pragmatic, and meticulous in terms of who we want and what we're doing in this window.

“If I get the couple of players I'm after between now and the deadline, I'll be absolutely delighted."
