QPR have launched a £1.5 million bid for West Brom striker Roman Bednar.

The Mirror says QPR boss Neil Warnock wants the Czech hitman to spearhead his Championship promotion challenge next season.

Bednar, 27, scored 11 goals to help guide Albion back to the Premier League and Warnock is preparing an audacious offer to bring him to Loftus Road.

QPR are also closing in on a deal for Crystal Palace winger Darren Ambrose and are set to offer Bristol City £500,000 for defender Bradley Orr.
