QPR keeper Green: Allardyce can be West Ham legend

QPR goalkeeper Robert Green is confident Sam Allardyce will win over the doubters at West Ham United.

Green, 34, goes up against his old club today having nothing but good words for a boss who is constantly under fire.

He said: "He has never been relegated, every team he has left in the top half of the league.

"Look when he was at Bolton. You were watching Jay-Jay Okocha and Nicolas Anelka. You can reel them off.

"He gets these guys and he gets them to play. That's what he does.

"He gets the required job done at the time it is required. His record speaks for itself. Because of his larger-than-life personality and confidence I think he is simply an easy target.

"I still keep in touch with some of the West Ham lads and. like everyone who has played there, I live and breathe the club.

"Sam has acquired some very good players who have gelled well and quickly and shown what a threat they can be.

"The manager is fully confident in his own ability and he has gone and got players who have shown what they can do.

"The owners want to please the fans and sometimes realising supporters' expectations and getting results will be a double-edged sword."
