QPR are believed to have joined the race to sign former Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi.
The 33-year old Nigeria international departed Turkish club Gaziantep BB at the end of December after a short stint and is now being linked with a return to the Premier League.
Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is hoping to reunite with Ameobi by bringing the ex-Magpies veteran to Selhurst Park but QPR are trying to swoop for his services before the winter transfer window slams shut on Monday night.
During his decade-and-a-half career with Newcastle, Ameobi made 380 appearances which yielded over 70 goals for the Toon.
