QPR boss Chris Ramsey is delighted to have added goalkeeper Alex Smithies to his ranks.

The R's completed the signing of the 25-year-old keeper in a £1.2million deal from Huddersfield Town. Smithies has arrived on a three-year deal at Loftus Road.

Manager Ramsey told the club's official website: "Alex is a decent addition to the group for us.

"He's played at this level and knows what it takes to compete in the Championship. He's approaching 250 league starts, so we're delighted to add him to the squad."
