Qatar Holdings insist they are not planning a takeover bid for Manchester United.
Its chief executive officer Ahmed Mohamed Al Sayed told Qatar's state-run news agency that the fund was not, and never had been, in negotiations to buy the club.
The latest speculation comes after a spokesperson for the present United owners, the Glazer family, again insisted the club was not for sale amid rumours in December that Qatar Holding was prepared to bid up to £1.5billion for the Red Devils.
Qatar recently acquired a 70 per cent stake in French top-flight team Paris St Germain.
