Manchester City are scrambling to clinch the signing of New York City FC prospect Giovanni Reyna.

The son of former City midfielder Claudio Reyna, Giovanni is expected to sign for BVB when he turns 16 in November, says BID. This despite City having first refusal on NYCFC talent courtesy of their partnership.

However, Reyna believes moving to BVB would serve his career better than going to City.

And it's been revealed the influence of USA international Christian Pulisic is key to the decision. Pulisic's success in Dortmund has convinced Reyna that following a similar career path is his best chance of making it in the game.
