Pulis urges Gudjohnsen to wait for Stoke chance

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has urged Eidur Gudjohnsen to be patient about a first team breakthrough.

Pulis remains hopeful that striker Gudjohnsen will make his mark at Stoke after dismissing a report linking him to a loan move to Reading.

The 32-year-old Icelander completed his first 90 minutes for the reserves this week to leave Pulis insisting: "He will play his part. It might not be initially, but I'm sure he will play his part.

"He isn't happy because he wants to play, but with the team playing well even Eidur would have to realise he's got to be patient."
