PSV star Afellay ponders Barcelona talks

PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Afellay has welcomed interest from Barcelona.

The Holland midfielder wants a fresh challenge after spending his whole career at the Dutch outfit.

It was announced last month he will not be signing a new contract when his current deal expires at the end of the season, with the 24-year-old being linked to a host of Europe's top sides, among them Barca.

While he admits he would relish playing for the Catalans, nothing as yet is decided so Afellay is simply concentrating on helping PSV win the Eredivisie.

He told Catalan-based newspaper Sport: "I don't know anything. I only know what I've read in the newspapers on the internet, but I still don't know what my future will be because there are many options.

"At the moment I don't think there has been contact between Barca and PSV.

"It is a fantastic club, a club everybody knows, with a team who plays really attractive football and who are one of the greats. But I insist that I still I don't know anything about my future.

"The only thing I can do is to continue training as always and play the best I know how with my team, which is still PSV."
