Marco van Ginkel has revealed Chelsea rejected a bid from PSV Eindhoven to buy him outright.
The Dutch midfielder joins PSV on a season-long loan, having also penned a new contract with Chelsea to 2020 in the process.
"There was interest from other clubs, but I have at PSV just a good feeling," the 24-year-old midfielder told the website of his agents, Team Wass.
"It's a conscious choice to again play for PSV. I feel it is the best chance to reach the national team. Initially a permanent transfer was discussed, but it was a loan, without the option to buy."
Agent Karel Jansen added: "It was a consideration to sell Marco to PSV. It was dropped quickly, however, he goes on-loan."
