PSV delighted as ex-Spurs winger (& Man Utd trialist) Noni Madueke makes debut

Former Tottenham winger Noni Madueke made his PSV Eindhoven debut on the weekend.

The 18 year-old English midfielder rejected pro terms from Spurs in 2018 and also an offer from Manchester United following trials to take the chance on Dutch football.

And the decision has been rewarded, with the winger making his debut as a substitute in PSV's 1-1 draw with VVV Venlo.

"Everyone sees the opportunities that our talents get here," PSV chief John De Jong told De Telegraaf. “Noni gets the chance, as recently Ihattaren, Cody Gakpo and Michal Sadilek also had. As far as I'm concerned, personal development as a great talent at this age is always worth more than what you can earn in the short term.

"At the beginning of this century, it was relatively easy to bring in Brazilian talents, and now a seventeen-year-old talent costs at least thirty million euros.

“We have to respond to that, as we tried to do with Noni. He saw PSV as a good development club, where he could get a chance. We are in that process. We see a future in him."
