PSV coach Roger Schmidt pleased with Leicester stalemate

PSV manager Roger Schmidt was delighted with his side's defending against Leicester City on Thursday.

The Dutch side secured a goalless draw in the first leg of the Europa Conference League quarter-final at King Power Stadium.

"It's very difficult to play in Leicester," Schmidt said, with the next leg in Eindhoven next Thursday.

"We don't have so much experience at this level. It was really a big game.

"The way they (the PSV players) played today, how brave they were, how they defended was really good. We deserved a point.

"We had some moments also in attack. I think with a little bit more patience we could have more clear chances, but we had a few. So in the end I think 0-0 is a good result for both teams. Now we have a final in our stadium.

"We played the first match, so before the second match the task is to analyse the game today in a good way to find solutions, especially in attack. We defended well, so they only had two opportunities.

"Otherwise we were really good in the box defending. We will have to find a good match plan for next week and then we have to fight to promote to the semi-final."
