PSG receive Champions League boost as Ligue 1 game cancelled

Paris Saint-Germain have seen their home clash against Montpellier in Ligue 1 postponed, which will give them more time to prepare for a Champions League game.

The French side face a crucial game against Red Star Belgrade, which they must win if they want to progress to the knockout stages. Liverpool and Napoli are the other Group C teams fighting for a knockout spot.

And they are now aided by the fact their domestic clash before that game will be postponed.

It appears the postponement is linked to a "Gilets Jaunes" protest in Paris, which means that security cannot be guaranteed for the game.

The clash will be played at a later date.
