PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has warned underperforming players on fat contracts are set to be dumped.

Al-Khelaifi, speaking with La Gazzetta dello Sport, made the comments when asked about former Barcelona star Neymar.

He said, "Beyond the rumours about Neymar, everyone has to give their best or they will have to leave. Like those who took advantage ... There will be sales.

“We want a fierce new team that goes to war every game. The Champions League is tough: just one detail, one mistake, like in Madrid and you're out. Sooner or later we will win it."

On Lionel Messi, he continued: "Messi has made history. It was not his best season, but after 20 years in Barcelona he was coming to a new country, a new city, a new league, a new team and a new culture.

"Next season we will see the best Messi in history. And after the first year, he is already a bargain financially. The same will happen with (Kylian) Mbappé."
