PSG new boy Di Maria: Blanc called me twice!

Angel Di Maria has revealed that he opted to make the move to Paris Saint-Germain because the club showed they wanted him.

The Argentina international has completed his transfer from Manchester United to the French champions, penning a four-year deal for a reported fee of £44.3million.

Di Maria was unveiled in Paris on Thursday evening and revealed that PSG boss Laurent Blanc, coincidentally a former Red Devils player himself, was eager to bring him to Parc des Princes despite him having a below par debut campaign in England with United.

"Things didn't work out with Manchester United, but what's important is the present with PSG," said the former Real Madrid star.

"Laurent Blanc called me twice, and that meant a lot. It's one of the things that made me come to PSG."

Di Maria also admitted his excitement at joining forces with fellow Argentine Ezequiel Lavezzi who has been with the French giants since 2012.

"I'm happy to play with Lavezzi, who's a good friend of mine in the Argentine National Team since 2008," he added.
