PSG fullback Daniel Alves says Neymar made the right decision to leave Barcelona for Paris.

Both Brazil internationals joined PSG last summer.

And Alves told FIFA's website: "Is Neymar ready to become the best player in the world? I believe that, with (Lionel) Messi, he is the most destabilizing player currently in world football.

"But he needed to get a little out of Leo's shadow. Playing with someone like Messi is the most incredible thing that can happen in a career but at the same time, you will always have a doubt as to whether the quality is really in you or if it's him who makes you to play better.

"Personally, I could play with Messi throughout my career, but he's Argentinian, while Ney and I are Brazilian! At some point, we have to face each other! (laughs) I think we are better able to achieve individual goals when we are not too close to a player like that."
