PSG director Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is being linked with a takeover bid for Espanyol.

Sport says Al Thani wishes to buy Espanyol in order to unsettle Catalan neighbours Barcelona.

PSG and Barca are currently at loggerheads over eachother's financial model.

Espanyol has financial problems and is for sale. Al Thani sees it as a good business opportunity, but also as an opportunity to hurt Barcelona.

The plan is, in the event of a takeover, to create the best team in Catalonia. Espanyol is currently owned by the Chinese Rastar Group.
