PSG defender Marquinhos has released a statement to fans after their shock Champions League elimination by Manchester United.

Marquinhos took to social media to address the result,

He said: "I know that words will not alleviate the pain of supporters and all those who were disappointed yesterday.

"I also know that they will say that they are still the same words and the same excuses, but all that we have left today is to be together, strong and united for PSG.

"We are men, fathers of families, we know that we have failed again. But do not doubt our respect for this club and our character! It's a difficult time but I tell you, our hour of glory will come."
