PSG chief Leonardo insists no regrets allowing Tuchel, Thiago Silva to join Chelsea

PSG chief Leonardo insists he has no regrets over his treatment of Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel was sacked by Leonardo on Christmas Eve, despite winning Ligue 1 last season and leading PSG to the Champions League final.

Taking charge of Chelsea in January, Tuchel guided the London giants to a top four finish ahead of Saturday's Champions League final victory against Manchester City. In the meantime, under Mauricio Pochettino, PSG fell short in the Champions League and also surrendered the Ligue 1 championship to Lille.

Despite the setbacks, Leonardo insist they were right to dump Tuchel and hire Pochettino.

Leonardo told Canal+ via Le 10 Sport: "How did I experience Tuchel's victory? (laughs) It's football, it's things that happen, it turns. I am happy. PSG made a good choice. These are cycles that pass in a club. Thiago Silva too, it's great to see him, even if he's injured."

Leonardo also released Thiago Silva from PSG last summer, allowing their club captain to come off contract after extending his contract to cover the mini Champions League campaign in Lisbon.

Thiago Silva started Saturday's victory, though was forced off due to injury.
